St. Louis Secondary School Transition Year students present the internationally acclaimed musical Sister Act in Halla San Lughaidh on February 6th, 7th and 8th. St. Louis Transition Year students attend Cross-Border Road Safety Event

On Thursday, January 18th, six Transition Year students from St. Louis Secondary School, Monaghan attended the North-South Ministerial Council Cross-Border Schools Outreach Seminar on Road Safety in Armagh. The girls thoroughly enjoyed excellent presentations from the PSNI, An Garda Síochána and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service on the importance of road safety. The students learned the stark reality of dealing with road traffic crashes and how they impact on everyone involved. They learned that even the smallest distraction can cause tragic consequences. The girls also learned that everyone has a role to play in making our roads safe.

St. Louis reaches All Ireland Basketball Qualifiers.

On Friday 19th January the U19 basketball team from St. Louis Secondary School, Monaghan travelled to Bagnelstown in Carlow in preparation for their All Ireland A qualifiers which were taking place on the Saturday. Captain Amy Mulligan and her team mates Natasha Hughes, Rachel Gallagher, Alex Mulligan, Hannah O’Reilly, Megan Treanor, Ruth Douglas and Bronagh McKenna where in high spirits and fancied their chances. In their first match the girls defeated Abbeyfeale of Limerick comfortably. TY Musical Rehearsals in full swing

Rehearsals for the TY musical are in full swing in preparation for our show in February. Today the backstage crew are busy preparing the set, Gavin is working with the leads and Ms Duffy and Ms Cassidy are rehearsing with the remainder of the singers. This will be a show not to be missed. Tickets will go on sale at the end of January.

Ulster Quarter Finals for St Louis U16 Footballers

On Tuesday 9th January, the St. Louis Monaghan u16 team had an impressive victory over St. Louis Grammar School Kilkeel in the final round of the Ulster Colleges championship. On a scoreline of (8.14-4.4) and in bitter cold conditions, the Monaghan side displayed their class and skill to overcome a very talented Newry squad. Playing with the wind in the first half the pressure was on the Monaghan girls to clock up a high score line to act as a cushion into the second half. St. Louis Kilkeel defended well and took their opportunities when the chance opened up in front of the Monaghan goal. Huge congratulations to our U19 Basketball Team who have reached the All Ireland A Qualifiers in Carlow on the 20th of January. We wish Miss Rooney and the U19 Basketball team the best of luck on their travels.
