Louis Crowned All-Ireland Champions There was All-Ireland success for the mighty Louis girls yesterday in the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght, in what was a superb nail biting game of basketball. The victorious Louis girls travelled to Tallaght Arena accompanied by over 150 Louis supporters to take on St Mary’s Midleton, Cork in the All-Ireland Final. Once the customary formalities of the National Anthem were concluded, the Louis girls lined out for the throw-in with focus and determination. Last night saw the opening night of our TY musical, Legally Blonde. A huge well done to all our TY students on a superb opening night performance. Tickets are still available from the school office and Rocks for tonight's performance. This is a show not to be missed!!!

Confirmation of All-Ireland Final date for U19 Basketballers

Our fantastic U19 basketballers will make the trip to the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght again on Tuesday 26th February to compete in the All-Ireland Final. With three other finals on that day, the girls will be preparing for a 4.15 throw-in time and will be using the next two weeks to prepare for the occasion. It is not known yet who the opposing team will be however, the girls will remain focused on the task at hand with all eyes set on the All-Ireland trophy. All of us at St Louis are tremendously proud of our U19 basketballers and we wish them the very best of luck in their preparations. Louis Louis Louis Oi Oi Oi!!!

Úna and Sonya are Croke Park bound

Congratulations to Sonya Mc Caughey and Úna Boylan who have progressed to the final stage of the Certified Irish Angus Beef School’s Competition. The girls will attend the final exhibition in Croke Park on March 18th. At this event 5 groups will be selected to receive their prizes Angus calves at the National Ploughing Championships. The girls will be interviewed by representatives from Irish Retailers, Teagasc, Bord Bia, Irish Angus Cattle Society, UCD, UCC and The Farmers Journal. The girls have worked very hard on their project and are guided and supported by their Biology teacher Ms. Mc Caffrey.

Ulster Cross Country Championships

Best of luck to Sheenagh Mc Kenna (3rd year) and Katie Mc Caffrey (1st year) who have qualified for the Ulster Cross Country Championships in the intermediate and minor grades respectively. The girls will be travelling to Mallusk in Belfast on Wednesday next and we wish them both the very best of luck.

All Ireland Final ahead for the Louis girls

Huge congratulations to our fantastic U19 basketball team who defeated Crosshaven, Cork in the All-Ireland Semi Final in the National Arena in Tallaght today. The Louis girls started strong with key scores from Alex Mulligan, Riona Kilpatrick, Rachel Callery and Hannah O' Reilly settling the Louis girls into the first quarter. Crosshaven made a comeback in the second quarter with four much needed scores however, the Louis girls held their composure and dominated much of the remainder of the game, to come deserving winners on the day. The girls are pictured below with Bernadine Callery from DBA Accounts Ltd and Monaghan Limousine Hire, who kindly sponsored a set of jumpers for the U19 team. W

Best of luck to the U19 basketballers and their supporters who have travelled to the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght today to compete in the All-Ireland Semi Final. The Louis girls meet Crosshaven from Cork in what's sure to be an exciting encounter. We wish the girls and their management the best of luck today.

Cross Country Success for St Louis

Congratulations to all the students who took part in the District D Cross Country event on Friday last. All girls ran a fantastic race on what was a freezing but sunny day. Katie Mc Caffrey (1st year) and Sheenagh Mc Kenna (3rd year) both qualified for the Ulster Schools Cross Country competition next week. Well done!!
