Rang Deidre head to Mullaghmore Equestrian Centre

Rang Deidre had a brilliant time out in Mullaghmore Equestrian Centre today. As part of a key assignment for their Leisure and Recreation course, they took part in a horse-riding lesson and learnt so much about horses and their upkeep in general. Transition Year student Tarah Sherlock had the fantastic experience of speaking at the Houses of the Oireachtas Ted Ed Club on Friday 8th March in Dublin Castle. Tarah was one of fifteen students from across the country who was selected to participate. Tarah’s insightful and thought provoking speech was on how social media is taking over our lives. Tarah was presented with a medal from Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghaíl for her exceptional work.The presentations have been uploaded to the Ted Ed Youtube channel and can be viewed all over the world. St Louis students showcase their Entrepreneurial Talent.

As part of the Enterprise Module in St Louis, Transition Year students took part in the Student Enterprise Program. It is the biggest enterprise competition for students in Ireland. The program encourages students to develop real life skills associated with running a business including working as part of a team, managing production and finances, organising a sales and marketing campaign and liaising directly with customers. The students set up a company producing scented candles and made a significant profit, some of which was dedicated to a charity in the local area. Basketballer Alex Mulligan is on fire.

The month of February has been a memorable month for our 5th year student Alex Mulligan. The talented Basketballer has recently tasted sweet success with St. Louis Secondary School’s u19 Basketball team who won the All Ireland League final. While this was a phenomenal team effort by all players, Alex was instrumental in this victory and was awarded with the MVP award following her fantastic display in the final quarters. On the very evening her team brought back the cup to a delighted crowd in Halla San Lughaidh, Alex received news that she has now made the final 16 of the Irish U18 Women’s Basketball squad. Hard luck to 1st year basketballers

Hard luck to our 1st year basketball team who were beaten by St Vincent's in the North East League semi-finals in Dundalk yesterday. The girls played brilliant however, lost out to a very strong St Vincent's side. Well done to all the girls and their coaches.

U14 Football Blitz

Congratulations to the U14 football team who won three out of their four games today at the U14 Blitz in Armagh. The girls played fantastic with some incredible scores and passages of play. Well done to all their girls and their coaches Aimee Mg Guirk, Jessica Mc Guirk and Fiona Kilpatrick.

St Louis represented at PE-XPO

St Louis were represented at the PE-XPO in DCU on Wednesday last by Tarah Sherlock, Abigail Finnegan and Alice Duffy. The girls were showcasing their project on an investigation into whether kinesio tape can enhance athletic  performance. There were over 200 projects on display at the event. Well done to the girls on a fantastic achievement.

Hazel reaches Grand Final of Junk Kouture

Hazel "Nailed It!" and qualifies for the Grand Final of Junk Kouture St. Louis Transition Year student Hazel McMorrow's China-inspired couture masterpiece, has qualified for the Grand Final of this prestigious fashion extravaganza, which takes place on May 2nd at the 3 Arena. Hazel, who worked on her own to create this magnificent piece, is one of the 80 Finalists chosen from all 5 Regional finals. The school was also represented in the Regional Final by Maja Jarzabek, Ciara Mc Caffrey and Aimee Peppard, whose creation "Education is Creativity" was also very well received by the vast audience.
